Dimosio Series

All roads lead to a government office in Crete. Fact. Learning to navigate the dimosio, or public sector, is a crucial skill that a Cretan can't live without!

Patenda or A Quick Fix Series

The word patenda literally translated means patent and colloquially means a 'quick fix'. Here in Greece, we always find a way. When faced with any problem, this is a phrase you will almost certainly hear- however you can't be sure that it won't cause you more heartache in the long run.

What's the Magic Number? Series

In every interaction involving adminstration without your "magic" protocol number (Αριθμός Προτωκόλλου), you shall not pass!

Ftou! Series

Ftou! Ftou! Ftou! A shock to foreigners, here in Greece we 'spit' on you to show how much we care. Ftou, my favorite onomatopeia, always comes in threes to represent the Holy Trinity, gives you protection from the Evil Eye. Enhance your protection with this line.

Evil Eye Series

The evil eye is deeply engrained in Greek culture. From city offices to village kitchens to baby strollers, the evil eye motif absorbs harm and provides protection.

Geometry Collection

I am drawn to bold geometric patterns which have been featured in Greek art since Minoan times. This collection emphasizes lines and shapes to draw the eye and warm the soul.

An Eye for a Stripe Series

All's fair in love and war but sometimes the scales aren't balanced. These works represents the give and take of daily life.

Stay Within the Lines Series

These pieces play with contrast between strong lines and void space to form eye catching statements.

The Moral of the Story... Collection

Greek myths are remarkably relevant to modern life. The often unpleasant lessons that they teach us and the comeuppance that their protagonists receive still gives us something to ponder. The pieces in this collection all tell a story, often with a twist in the tale.

Gorgon Series

The Gorgons were 3 beautiful sisters- behind their beauty they exercised dark powers over people that gazed at them. Look deep into the patterns of these pieces. What do you see?

Narcissus Series

Narcissus was tricked into falling in love with his own reflection in a pool. He was heartbroken when he realized that his love would not be reciprocated and was transformed and immortalized into a beautiful golden flower. Here in Crete, the narcissus flower is called manousaki (my surname). The beauty of these pieces represent a further immortilization of manousaki.

Animal Instincts Collection

Animal themes have been central in Greek art, for centuries. This emotive collection uses animal motifs and representations to create vibrant pieces that express depth and feeling.

Bullheaded Series

Here in Greece, one of the first questions you're asked is what's your star sign. I'm a Taurus and tauruses are known for being headstrong which served me well when I was the newbie in town. These strong impactful pieces draw on different representations of the bull, from the Minoans to Picasso.

Tyger Tyger Series

Tyger Tyger burning bright,

In the forests of the night:

What immortal hand or eye,

Dare frame thy fearful symmetry?

-William Blake .

Blue Series

Whether the deep cerulean of the Aegean Sea to the limitless azure skies of Crete - blue is the color of Greece.

Cyan Series

Cyan symbolises calm - this series brings lightness,  simplicity and summer in Greece to the forefront.

Orange Series

The Orange series represents all the moods and shades of the setting sun. In Crete, sunsets take over the whole sky for a fleeting moment with a riot of bright oranges,

burnt honey and fire. This is always a moment for reflection as the day draws to a close  and the light moves through it's full color spectrum.

Purple Series

Growing up in, and now, owning a winery, grapes are an indelible part of Alex's existence. Memories of tasting grapes from the pergola to the deep purple satisfaction of her first mourvedre vintage - purple is ubiquitous to her life.

Less is More Series

The Less is More Series focuses on

sublety, nuance, simplicity - white on white is effortless. Minimalistic white stripes decorate this piece.

All the Shades Series

So many colors and dramatic brush strokes means endless options to compliment any setting.

B+W Series

The B+W series is bold and edgy and who doesn't love classic black and white?
